Is the plain 84 v6 2.8l camaro rare?

I have an 84 v6 2.8l camaro. It's not a z or iroc or berlinetta, its just an 84. At least that's the way I understand it, maybe I'm wrong. But I was wondering if they were rare cars, reason is there is not much talk about them, that I know of. In all the messsage boards everyone talks about iroc z, v8's, rally sport, etc., but there is not much talk about this brand. Or maybe my question should be is this car one that may have been avoided by buyers for some reason or another? Anyone know a little history about my car?

Sorry to tell you, but there were a ton of '84 Sport Coupes made, especially with V6s.

The reason why you don't hear much talk of them on this board at least is because they aren't particularly rare. Or I should say, they never used to be!! But hey, the older they get, the more you see in the boneyard....

I used to have an '84 SC w/2.8, 5-speed, full instrumentation, spoiler package, cloth interior (I wonder how many of those were made??). Man, I frikkin' loved that car. Wish I'd never sold it but it's still on the road, I recently discovered after much research. Unfortunately it's in dire need of a major restoration (which I'd be more than willing to tackle).

Here's a pic:

I've been searching traderonline, etc. for a long time for one exactly like it and VERY rarely, if ever, have I seen any like It seems like 99% of them are automatics, and there are a ton of them. There does seem to be a lot more Z28s for sale.

In a word, "No".

There reason there isn't much talk about them is because there isn't much to talk about. Not trying to be a smart *** , just honest.

And, just because a car is rare (ie low production numbers) doesn't have any bearing on its value. A bare bones, 4 cylinder Chevy II/Nova from the 60s, radio delete, no options is a rare car, but it isn't valuable.

Which would you rather have? A 1967 L79 350HP 327 Nova SS or a 1967 4 cylinder Nova with no radio, bench seats, 3 speed standard on the tree? GM made about the same number.

I have two of them myself. I bought them together, one as a parts car, and the other one to drive. I loved that car, t-tops, the works. only problem, the night before the first day of school, my sister totaled it@! It was an awesome car, but i guess that kinda thing happens.

Well, I used to have one....that is until the 2.8 gave way to a 350. But like somebody said, less and less of them every day.

I just sold my '84 Camaro Sport Coupe to a friend about a month ago. Sport Coupes are everywhere in Indiana...

Mine had the 2.8L V6, 700R4 trans, and came from the factory with an AM radio. :-)
