I have the chance to buy an 89 IROC for parts. It's complete except for motor, doors and front d/s fender. The 700R4, disk brake rear, and rest of the body and electrical system is still intact.

What would be a reasonable offer?

I agree! Only a few hundred I just had to have the junkyard come and take my old 88 IROC away including a freshly rebuilt tranny that $1K was spent on just cause I couldn't give the parts away. Just make sure you really need the parts. Just my view.

 

I woulda took the tranny...oh well

Unfortunately, i'm primarily after the disk brake rear being that my i have a bent passenger side axle in my 2.77 9-bolt Formula. Most professional salvage yards are asking $500 for 9-bolts...

I'll be parting out what's left of the IROC though once i take what i can use. I'll probably keep the 700R4 and have it rebuilt. Kinda nice having another auto tranny to deal with and not have to give up my daily driver for a week or so... The electrical system, wheels, hood and misc. body parts, and various items plus the brakes and hull of my old 9-bolt may come up for sale once i get the car.
