can anyone give me an idea of rpos for different gear ratios??? i just picked up an 84 z28 today for parts and if it has better gears in the rear i will swap that into mine...or if anyone can at least give me a list of the codes and the cooresponding ratios for the id number stamped on the rear...thanks

I know GU2 is 2.73, GU4 is 3.08, GU5 is 3.23 and GU6 is 3.42. Go to this link and look at all the codes that start with "G".

I thought ALL H.O. cars came with 3.73 rear gears, automatic or not. My '84 H.O. has an automatic with the 3.73 rear axle and is verified with the GT4 code on the RPO label.
