need help soon???

ok so i went and looked at this z28 today and the people had no info on it so they didnt really help much. My question is if u guys thinks it a l98 350 according to my clues. ok it has a 145 mph speedo and when im lookin at the engine from the front the alternator is on the left compared to my iroc which is on the left and its a 305. Its an automatic and has a single fan if that matters. would really like to know this before i buy it, i didnt get a chance to look at the vin. what do u guys think according to what i said?

Wouldn't it be safest for you to go and look at the vin to see if the 8th digit is an 8, just to be sure?

oil cooler was standard equipment on the L98 (at least in 88, i assume 87 too) so thats a dead giveaway. but look at the vin before you hand the guy any money.

Everything that was standard on the L98 was available on the LB9. By far the easiest way to determine what it came with from the factory is the VIN number. After that the block will have a partial VIN number stamped on the front passengers side, below the head. If that number matches the VIN number then you've got a numbers matching combo and you can trust the 8th digit of the VIN.
