Camaro build sheet decoding.

This topic has been hit a billion times. I have the GU6 (3.42) but I can't read the plate on the axle to see if it's posi or not. The build sheet has KA in box 11. Is there a build sheet decoder?

The RPO code is G80 for positraction. You can also look on the passenger side axle tube, looking at it from the input side about middle of the tube. The axle code and build date was stamped in the tube. Now it may or may not still be readable fter being in the weather for 20+ years.I hope this helps some.I'm sorry i can't help you with the build sheet.

No g80 option that I see. The axle has oil/grease caked all over that section of the axle. Tried to scrape of to read but difficult w/o jacking up car. I just picked up car a couple weeks ago and the car has only 55k original miles so it is in great shape. Just that axle leak. I will swap out for posi when I have it serviced. Would be nice to figure out what's there before we open it up.

The code maybe still readable. All you have to do is clean it up.Like i said it'll be on the passenger side tube looking at it from the input side.IT'll be letters and numbers.First of which will be the axle code & open/LS differential.Just have to clean the tube real well includung using a fine wire brush.Only drwback to this is if someone has changed anything.best solution is to pull the cover.
