Ok, according to the Camaro White book.... there were only 3 CD players installed into 1990 Camaros

.... Well, I think I've found one of the three. It's an IROC w/o t-tops, but it has the G-92 and 5.7 (all stock)

Does anyone think that this car would be more valuable because of the CD player? I'm really looking for an IROC with Ttops... but if it has any extra value, I'll buy this one.

Interesting...rare options certainly do add value to a car. However, I do not think a rare radio option is included in that scenario. If it is true that you have found 1 of 3, then that is an awesome find, but I would not give up what you REALLY want for a 12 yr old CD player, no matter how original.

Original radios are nice...the one non-stock item in my '97 30th Z28 is the stereo, as it came with a Pioneer CD player instead of its original cassette/CD changer (don't ask me why! ) However, if you REALLY want t-tops (personally I wouldn't want any Camaro without them), then go after what you really want. When you set out to buy this car, did you REALLY want a factory CD player, or REALLY want t-tops?

Good luck in whatever you decide. Either way, you will hopefully get a nice car. I just wouldn't let a CD player get in the way, because in all likelihood, the t-tops will add more future value to the car than the CD player will.

Thanks Jason, that is some very good advice.

I'll talk to my wife (this will be her car)about the TTops, she said she would "like" to have them, but not a necessity.

I on the otherhand want to fight depreation as much as possible, so an orignal equipment/rare vehicle sounds good to me... and the price is right

If the car is for your wife, and she "says" she wants t-tops, then my marital advice to you is...get the damn t-tops

I got my girlfriend a nice '94 Grand Am through work dirt cheap...now she's been thinking about buying a Camaro. I have found her some nice '91-'92 RS's, and even some 4th gen 3.4s she likes, but I have yet to find a clean one w/ t-tops. She won't touch one without them

As for the car you're looking at, it sounds nice, but hold out. I spent a nice chunk on my 30th Z28 back in March under the assumption that being up north, I would not find many QUALITY, original third gens come summer. I was wrong...example #1 of many is a 27k mile, Heritage '92 RS convertible down the street...I love my Z, but in some ways I wish it was an L98 IROC. Hold out...you'll find it...

I know this from experience. If you settle the one you really wanted will come around just after the one you just bought. My case 91 Z 5.0 ttops auto. 2 months later 91 Z 5.7 auto C&C ttops. Not factory but I wouldn't mind to have had it.
