ok...85 trans am, i was just looking at my RPO code list, and it says GW6 which is the 3.27 posi rear gear ratio. but according to this site in the tech data, and many other sites, 3.27's weren't available in 85, only 3.23's, 3.73's, and 3.42's. so why do i have 3.27's??? i don't think it's a real big deal, it just seems weird to me, anyone know what's going on here???? thanks

in '85 you got a borg warner 9 bolt rear end. Not the 10 bolt common in most third gens. The standard ratio was 3.27 with an auto. The rear is stronger than a 10 bolt, but its not really worth it because all the parts are so expensive. If you are looking to get a new gear set, I think SLP is the only one who sells em. And expect to pay way more than a 10 bolt set.
Peace
