different dash pad
sorry but i can't find where to search anymore, i have an odd dash in my firebird, i don't know if it's stock but i doubt it since nothing else in the car is, the dash pad has two indented lines along where is comes down over the gauge area, my friend tells me this is rare, probably becuase neither he or i have ever seen one like this, i was just wondering if you guys may know something more about it, i personally don't like it as much as the stock ones i've seen because it doesn't look as "sharp" to me, but i don't want to give it to my friend before knowing anything about it

How'd you get an 82-84 dash in your 88 Fbird?
Seriously, I bought an wrecked 88 Formula for parts and it had a mint dash in it. That was great as my son's 91RS needed a dash and we thought most of the stuff was interchangeble between Fbirds and Camaros. Well, the Formula dash was completely different than the Camaro dash. Same number of screws in the defroster vents but not only was the screw spacing at the bottom rear of the dash different, the dash is SHORTER than the Camaro dash. Same width from side to side, but shorter. Almost an inch. This Fbird dash also in not flat across the back/top of the dash and has the indented area in the center where the gauges are. No wonder GM continues to lose money. No reason in the world to make the dash different.
