1992 GTA AMT models
Hey guys, how common are those AMT models of the 92 GTA? They are yellow on the box with t-tops. Last issued in 1992. There's a couple on ebay right now with a buy it now price of $19 each. If they are uncommon, I will probably pick one up cuz it sounds like a decent price compared to the AMT Heritage z28 model I just won for $36. I used a coupon though so I only ended up paying $35 after shipping was added.

I see those GTA models at every car show (large one) that I attend. Least when they have diecast and model vendors present.
In fact its where I bought mine for $12 :-)
I have seen them go for $12-20 on avg. Least I wouldnt pay more than that.
I dont recall seeing the Heritage Z, however I will admit I'm alwasy scouring for birdie stuff and not for the camaros.

You can find them around, just not as the local hobby store.
Areas like Los Angeles, can have Hobby Stores that have a section of old models. Prices can go sky high on these too.
As for ebay, all it takes is one guy set to pay whatever to get it, and the prices go out of sight!
I have seen some websites selling these things for up to $36.00 per kit. Believe it or not, there are people who don't know where to look to find these, and they end up paying those prices.
I go to Plastic Model Shows, and judge the going rates, then price my stuff by that.
Nice score, by the way!
Hope this helps,
George

Re: 1992 GTA AMT models
I have the Z/28 but not the GTA. I turned down a TA model someone was selling on the Pontiac site because the shipping was so high. I would love to hit some model shows but there are none around where I live.

Re: 1992 GTA AMT models
I had an '89 (?) notchback GTA that was made by AMT, and a '91-'92 hardtop Formula that was made by Monogram. Anyone ever see those around anymore?

They've gotten their mileage out of that kit, it was released with three different colors on the box. The yellow customized version is current in the last few years.
