I pulled out the "glovebox" of my 82 S/E and in the panel behind the glovebox there was a BIRD stamped. i went to my friends house and pulled off his 87 glovebox ..but there was no bird ..
What you say .. have any f you found this hidden bird ?
why did Gm stamped a bird behind the Glovebox? (i guess it was an option)

I have seen this "hidden" bird on an 82 or 83 T/A in the junkyard. I never checked for it on my 83 or 84 and I have no idea what it was doing there. Maybe some base birds did not have the map pocket, so that "hidden" logo served the same purpose as the one on the map pocket...

Both my 83 and 84 Trans Am's have this bird stamped into the plastic.

 

My '84's got it too. I have seen a few 82-84 stripper L4 and V6 Firebirds in the junkyard that have this. The indentation for the pocket was there, just no mounting holes.
