Do you mean Pontiac Rally II wheels? 5 spoke steel with a silver cap with a Pontiac arrow head or a black cap with a turkey?
They're kinda unusual, but yeah they were available stock on thirdgen Firebirds for a year or two.

Not too common. But not really desirable either. Kinda like a Berlinetta with a full set of centercaps. I've seen 3 Berlinetta centercaps in the past 5 years. Probably isn't much weight difference between the steel 15's and the aluminum 15's. FWIW Rally II wheels are extremely common in general. Pontiac used them on Firebirds, GTO's, Lemans, Grand Prix's, etc etc etc. They're kinda like the Chevy rally wheel in that aspect.

86 was the year the RII's were "re-introduced". I have never seen a bird with these yet but they look rather appealing.

have to admit they look better with age than the 15x7 aluminum rims. They're steel and painted so they don't have a clearcoat that needs to be constantly waxed. Finding a set in the junkyard for $50 isn't too hard, since they used them all thru the 60's, 70's and early mid 80's.

I have seen those wheels several times, they are not un-common (around me anyway). All the ones I have seen have been severely weathered and aged and look very bad. I do like that wheel and when it is in excellent shape I think it looks good.
