well most F-body verts were made by ASC, which was where he said the car was from.

 

no no this is not ASC convertible for sure the top mechanism
is completely different, and ASC didnt convert Trans am's until
88 or 89 i think

 

Its probably whats in the other post, I wasnt sure who it was but I'd seen one before.
I do know of a few 86 TA's that were the 'ASC' style like the 86 Camaro that Ken has from Choo Choo. ASC started cutting off roofs of Firebirds in 87 but not officially, not until 91 was it official. Also keep in mind that ASC did convert customer cars, there was one on ebay recently, an 85 Camaro with an ASC sticker and June 88 date IIRC, with all the appropriate ASC parts. I had talked to someone from ASC back in 88 about getting the roof cut off my 85 TA and they said they'd do it, so I now believe that to be true as well according to what I've seen lately.
