Is there a 1982 Firebird Assembly Manual? I have one for an 82’ Camaro and its close but I would like to find one the Firebird. Has anybody ever seen one?
Any idea who/where I could contact at GM?

They have the service manual, but thats it. That was the first thing I bought when I got my car.

That's unfortunate... I think the only year that the body manual was separated from the service manual was 82, after that they were together.
I can give you the number of a guy in Edmonton who would probably have one.

In the service manual there is a body section, the assembly manual is something different, it is used by the assembly line workers as a reference when putting the car together. There are a bunch for corvettes and some for the Camaro, I have also seen one for the 1980 firebird. I bought the Camaro one I have on ebay, but I would like to find one for the firebird.
Here’s a pic of the one for the 82 Camaro.

That's what I'm talking about, the old "Fisher" manual. After 83 or so they're not a separate item.
Sorry, I don’t think I’m being clear. I think where talking about a three different books
I’ll try to clarify. There is the:
1) 1982 Pontiac service manual - which include the body section.
2) 1982 Fisher body service manual - which does not have any f-body specific info in it. I know because I bought one thinking it would. I later found out the f-body specific information is in the service manual’s body section.
3) 1982 Assembly manual – used by factory workers during the build process. Its not a service manual and was designed for GM internal use.
I have the first two, service manual and Fisher body service manual, I’m just looking for the third one.
Thanks to ebay I found some pics of the first two.

I am not sure that Pontiac released them, as quite a few years I can't find myself.
The last one I ever saw, was 1980.

I've been trying to find one also...I have seen them for Camaros like the one in the pic. I have also seen the Fisher Body manuals, although finding one for an '82 F-Body has been difficult. I see them all the time for other cars, but not F-Body. Also I haven't seen an assembly manual for '82 Firebirds. Don't know how similar the Camaro one would be, they are the same platform obviously so there probably isn't too many differences other than the bumpers maybe, and headlights.

If your doing it to re-assemble a car you might consider getting a Parts & Illustration catalog, they give hints on how things were to go together.
Yeah, I’ve got that too, I’ve had to use it a few times to see how various brackets went back on. The exploded views can be very helpful. I actually made a copy of it so I can have one in the garage and not worry about getting it dirty.
