Another Firehawk Question

Which came first, the Firehawk or the Ronal R-15s? In other words, did the Firehawk designers commission Ronal to make a wheel specifically for their car, or did they make the car and then search for an existing wheel on the market?

Thanks for any insights.

I think the R-15's were first and Ed Hamburger desided to use them on the firehawk to give it a more agressive look.

IF SLP had Ronal make the R15's for them then they might have had exclusive rights to the design as it is Ronal is making those rims again.

We need an answer from somebody who has the documents. I remember back in early '91 when I was at high school and had bought 2 magazines that had the Firehawk in it titled "corvette killer?" I let a friend who was in to firebirds the 2 magazines and the bastard left town with my magazines. If I could only find that bastard, in case you are reading, Danny from Hialeah Miami Laeks Sr, this is Andy and I want them back!
Good points made above on the marketing and rights of them as they are being sold again. I read on Firehawk.org on the message boards about problems with the clear coat on the rims peeling??? Is this aftermarket ones being sold after the first 20-something were made as I do not believe any of the Hawks I have seen in photos have any rim damage or peeling. Andy
