Not checked on a NYS inspection......too old....go to
New York State Department of Motor Vehicles - NYS DMV - NYSDMV - Driver - Vehicle and see as they list what is needed
for the different years.......Just had my 90 Camaro done
and took 18 minutes start to finish

Having grown up in upstate NY with my experience I would say no, it will not legally pass.

This is not to say that if you "know" someone, or have a contact you could get it to be passed. But if you walk up to some random ligitimate shop they will likely fail you.

NY is trying to crack down on emmisions, too.

anything will pass if you know someone. i have a 84 TA, removed all of the emissions equipment and put a 1966 327 in it. on cars as old as ours they're supposed to visually inspect the car to make sure all the parts are there, but they don't have to work. if you're check engine light isn't on maybe you'll get lucky and they won't even open the hood for the inspection. where in NY are you?
