No, the parking brake on both types of rear disc applies pressure through the same pads as are used for hydraulic braking.

is there any possible way to make your parking brake work off the front instead of the back?

Not really. The parking brake is cable actuated, not hydraulic.

Can I ask why?

Depending on the answer, you could use a line lock for the fronts or rears, but that does depend on why you want to do this.

well i wanted to make a line-lock out of the parking brake, but if its not possible then i am just going to get a line lock, i just thought it would be really diffrent an unique, ive never heard of anyone using a parking brake as a line lock.

Just to add a bit more info to the availability of 4 wheel discs(RPO-J65).You had to order a V8 and posi diff(RPO-G80)on non Z28 models.I know this is true for '82 to '85 but not sure on '86 to '92.And to second the parking brake,it used the service brakes as stated above just as if it were a drum setup. The early cars,'82-'84, were a little more complicated than need be and there was a recall on the parking brake assembly but only affected cars were manual trans according to GM(even though auto trans cars used the same setup).

Because the calipers won't fit with the steering and suspension gear in the way, the cables will bind every time you tried to turn a corner, and the parking brake is barely able to keep the wheels from turning while the car is parked at the best of times.
