placement of 1985 trans am deco package
i was wondering if anyone knew the measurements for the bird on the sides and on the hood, i want to put the decos on the car as they have been sitting for awhile now and i dont want them going bad. I went to GM and they said they jsut were stuck wherever but if someone could measure off theirs or already has before the info would be greatly appreaciated. thx in advance.

Your best bet would be to find as many pics you can find and decide where you like them and then eyeball them as best as you can. As long as they're close, no one is going to argue too much, and if you like the way they look then you'll be happier with the car. The blow off that GM gave you has it's reality. There's human error involved and even in GM promo material the badging tends to move around.

The hood decal sheet should have alignment marks on it.

My sheet had marks to align with front vents and a centerline mark that you align on the center hood ridge.
It should be fairly easy to find the centerline of the decal, you just need the distance from the front hood vents.
I would recommend you clay bar the entire car before applying decals.
