Hey guys,
Need some help on this one. Here is a pic of the car. Do you think it is worth 4K. The mileage is 222000 give or take a few.

Depends. It is impossible to tell from a picture what the paint and body really look like. That is an unbelievable # of miles so I would assume that every suspension bushing and brake part will need replacement. Is the engine original with those miles? If so then you are looking at a new motor or rebuild if you intend on using the car for performance use. I would not pay that much for a car basically needing a rebuilt engine unless the body is really totally flawless. Then it may be worth it.

So what would you give for it? The body is in pretty nice shape and the car is a one owner. The people that bought it from the same dealership that has it now just traded it in.

With that kind of mileage and being a RS I wouldn't go over $2000.That is a lot of mileage if it's the original drivetrain.being a dealership make them an offer all they can do is either counter or say no.

I don't care what kind of shape it is in I am never paying $4,000 for a car with 222,000 miles on the original engine. And if it has a replacement engine it better not have a drop of rust anywhere. There are just too many thirdgens out there with less mileage in better shape.

Boy, that a reputable dealer.
Put a car with 220,000 miles on there lot. Same family has owned it, they were 80 years old, drove to churck twice a week. Never took it abouve the posted speed limit, changed oil every 2000 miles or 3 month whichever came first. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Fact is it is a ragged out nice looking car. It has 220000 miles and chances they know there luck has ran out.

Re: Do you think it is worth it?
What motor is in it? Like other folks said, with cash it'd be lower. If you need a car financed that may be one way to do it. That car is right at average miles for the year, but once a car exceeds normal limits, condition is more important that miles. Look at it this way, a 1957 Chevy would have over 750,000 miles if it was driven average miles. But what matters most is what shape it is in now.
