I think I've seen maybe 1 or 2 similar stock colors like mine during my time here on the forums. I'm sure if I looked harder I'd find more. Anyone else seen this color much? I'm fixing to have the paint/body redone with the factory color... thought I'd just see who else is sporting the stock Burnt Orange
.
Thought i'd ask in here rather then the paint/body forums. More curious as to see if this was more a rare color then not. I read the Thread on the Yellow Irocs, I want to know more about the Orange ones now ! haha

As far as I've read '88 was the only year for your color. It's called medium orange metallic(code 63/WA 9188).It was available on all models.According to the "Camaro Whitebook" there were 3010 total Camaros ordered in that color for '88.So to me it is an uncommon color for an IROC and looks nice too.It would be worth keeping her that color IMHO.
EDIT:what color is the Camaro behind your IROC?Just curious because it looks real close to yours.I've thought asking how many members have beige(code 59/WA 8509)Camaros.It's looks good on my '83 Z28 with the gold GFX/wheels and was only offered '83 & '84.

Hey thanks alot man and yeah it is staying this color for sure... Thanks for the color code too I'll use that for matching the correct color.
I see you got an 83 z28 CFI... I want mine back
I let family borrow it... was put in the pound at a bad financial spot in my life... lost the damn thing. Had to sell it. It had my 88 Iroc rims on the car when I had to let it go.
The car behind mine is a maroon 92 RS, when he poped the hood the firewall was red... It was fairly clean though... this picture is from a little DFW/Tx Meet some of the guys/gals from here had in July.
Thanks again for the info.

You are most welcome, also the color code should be in the last line of your SPID in the console(but make sure the VIN matches your car if you haven't already).
That's bad about your '83 and she had the LU5 also? That's one rule I have about my vehicles and tools - no one borrows them.I have the single line gold IROC wheels on mine.
The shading makes the Camaro behind yours look the same.my eyes playing tricks on my...LOL

Yep LU5 with CFI... it kept going... and going... and going. Never gave me any problems and would still scratch 2nd with 17 inch 245/45s on it. Charcoal Grey with Silver/Grey Xfx... had the functional hood and everything. I'd drive it from Dallas Tx to Des Moines Iowa a few times during the summers (1500 mile round trip) was getting 25 mpg there and back. 140k+ miles on it... I'll find me another one...
Have you done anything to your CFI Intake Manifold to open it up some? I did alot of research into porting mine and fine tuning it there for awhile... I'd still love to get my hands on one. Some people have done some amazing things with the CFI, especially alot of the 82-84 Vette guys

I love mine and wouldn't part with her.I wanted one when they were new but ended up buying a Daytona TurboZ in '84(long story).Mine runs well and Ive upgraded the ignition and wires as she has 150K miles(although the original paint and interior doesn't show it).She still has the functional composite hood(and the other thread about lightweight parts I checked and she has the aluminum bumper bar).Yes there are members of the Crossfire vault running thier '82 & '84 Vettes in the 12's.
I bought another intake over a year ago with plans to port it as per the instructions from the Crossfire vault and a couple other sources(doing it to another one at least if i screw it up).I have an extra set of TBI's to have rebushed and eventually ported to 2".I had bought L69 exhaust manifolds first from another member then found L98 with the AIR tubes and y-pipe to replace the exhaust manifolds & y-pipe the LU5 shares with the LG4(not to mention the N10 dual mufflers). But now I have another deal to get Edlebrock TES HO headers from another member.I already have a 3" catco cat and then all I'll need exhaust wise is the catback. And the other thing is to upgrade to the '85 TPI fuel pump and lines.
They do take extra work but they can be fun.Finding one that hasn't been converted or motor swapped is getting hard.Mine is still numbers matching which may mean something someday.

Is there anyway to break down the number of cars sold with the orange paint? I have the 350 option and have been told there were only a hand full sold with that combo.[IMG]

GM didn't break the option combos down like that. But needless to say a '88 code63/WA 9188 IROC with B2L/L98 with CC1 T-tops would be very uncommon.I was wondering what color stripe/decal came with the color.Do you know if the original wheels had the gold inserts?both of you have nice looking cars.

so strangely enough, there's an 88 IROC on fleabay as of today, although the guy admits having it repainted recently:

Yea that is a pretty bad picture. One of these days i'll get around to taking some better shots. The upper stripe is black, the lower one is gold and the wheels were gold, same as the other light colored cars. The door emblems match the wheels.

Yours is just like mine, minus the decals... It looks like removing the Decals was an option in 88.
And yeah my original wheels had the gold trim in them.

I came This close to buying an 88 Formula 350 in the orange color... it had no options whatsoever except the top radio and a power antenna... otherwise it had nothing.
