IROC decal placement
I know it's been talked about before but I couldn't find what I was looking for in a search.
Does anyone have the measurements on where to put an IROC-Z door decal on an '85-'87 IROC-Z? It's the one where the decal is on the front portion of the door, unlike the '88-'90 cars where it's on the back side of the door.
I need to know how many inches it is from the ground effects and from the front edge of the door, so I can get the proper placement. Thanks.

Re: IROC decal placement
Unlike first generation cars, I don't beleive there's an "official" correct placement. Sure, most of 'em are in the same place, but I don't think there's anyone that could confirm or deny a certain placement.
I'd just get a measurement from some beater in the mall parking lot!!!
....but I could be wrong, and if so, I'd love to see an "official" placement. -but in all my years I've never seen any official GM template or measurement.

There's gotta be some kind of correct placement, because all the factory IROCs have the decals in the same exact spot.

Re: IROC decal placement
There was no factory template to place the decals, but the decal backing was oversized and the edges were cut so that all you had to do was line up the front edge with the front of the door and the bottom edge with the top of the stripes. I know this because I installed factory decals on my car back in '00.
Unfortunately, that car was stolen so I can't get measurements off of it. However, my silver '85 was repainted at the dealer back in the early '90s and ALL factory decals were put back on, so I would assume they are in the correct spot. I can measure the placement of those if you would like.
