There was no "H.O." option in 1987. Where is the "limited edition" coming from?

Re: missing RPO value?
As said, there were no HO (L69) cars in 87. Last year for that engine was 86, and there were only a small handful of those.
Sounds like somebody bought some stickers. They're easy to get, easy to install, don't cost a whole lot. Popular kind of thing for some reason.
Who put the seal on the dash?

car was made in 8/87 and its a 1987 on the title. so how few is few for H.O. in 86 and the limited edition seal is a part of the dash not just a add on that you would glue it is made into the dash
H.O. was a add
H.O. was a add

Re: missing RPO value?
then tell me where the gold seal came from???
Take a GOOD CLEAR PIC of it using the "macro" setting of your camera (the little "tree/flower" button.... put it on "flower") and post it. Maybe we can figure out, by what it says, who put it there.
Regardless, WE OUT HERE don't have the burden of proving that you DON'T have what you say you do; rather, YOU have the burden of proof of backing up YOUR claim. That's how claims work, you know.
Doesn't too much matter how few HO cars they made in 86. The HO motor (L69) wasn't certified by GM for emissions in F-body cars in 87, so it wasn't used in 87 F-bodies. Period. Non-issue.
You say your car is from 87, but I doubt that, based on what else you tell us. Either it's an 87, or it was made in 8/87; BUT NOT BOTH. Your car is a 88, if it was made in 8/87. They quit making 87 cars by about the end of 6/87 and switched over to new model year production. Same as they do every year. The 88 model cars hit the showroom floor around 9/1/87. Given that it takes a while to change over a plant from an old model year to a new one, then build enough cars to roll out a new model year, and then a certain length of time after that to transport them from Van Nuys to dealers all over the country, it's pretty easy to figure out that no 87s were built in 8/87. Go visit a vehicle assembly plant, ANY car mfrs plant, and learn more about the process; it's a MAJOR learning experience for anyone interested in the car hobby.
What is the 10th digit of your VIN? (a letter; tells the year model)
It's also not impossible that you have an ASSORTMENT of car parts from a variety of years, all rolled into one car.
Re: missing RPO value?
I disagree with the statement that his car is an 88 based on the production date. My car has a sequence build date of 7/16/87. His car's production was just 2 weeks after mine and could have an 8/87 build. When did Chevy start building the 88s if by 7/16/87 my car was built?
