Newbie Question

I just bought my first third gen after a dreaming of one forever. This one does not have any keys. What is the best way to replaec the door and T-Top keys? I am planning to replace the ignition cylinder to take care of that one. Thanks guys.

You have to take your fdr apart and take the lock cylinders out and replace them.... idk about the T-tops

Re: Newbie Question

You can take the door panels off, reach in the doors and remove the lock cylinders, same with trunk. Not sure about ttops, but if you can get them off then you should be able to get the lock cylinders out, then take them all to a locksmith and have them rekeyed and have new keys cut.

Re: Newbie Question

Or try to find a junk car with good locks and the key so they are all from the same place but like the other guy said you have to be able to take the tops off (I just had to do the same with mine)

Re: Newbie Question

It depends on the year, but you could just take the VIN to your dealership. Have the dealership lookup the key code for your VIN and cut you the proper keys.
