How rare is a 1992 Z28???

I have found a 1992 Z28 Conv. The car needs a lot of work. Body is straight could use a new paint job. Engine is blown and needs to be replaced. Miles shows 119K. Also could use some interior TLC. seats worn carpet Is this considered a rare car? What would be a fair price to pay? No rust car is in Arizona!

Hmm I don't know if it's rare but hearing what is in it I would say to find another car but if you really want this one for what every reason I'd say about $750-1,000, seeing as around here I can get one for about 2,000 and that is fully running and new paint. Recommend looking on craigslist you can find them on there.

Re: How rare is a 1992 Z28???

ALL convertible Z28's would have had the LB9. THe difference would have been the Automatic or the Manual transmission. For fuel economy reasons I do not believe that any of the verts got the G92 option, so the Automatic would have a 2.73 gear, and the manual a 3.08 gear. A vert with a blown engine, good top, needs paint, I would say $500 to $1500 tops, it would depend on other things, like how straight the car is, I would rather buy a car with no rust and shot paint than to get a repaint.

Yea thats what I was thinking on the price as well. The guys is asking 4500.00 Its a low number car but needs lots of work. I think he is dreaming for that kind of price. I have been seeing nice ones with less miles for that.

Re: How rare is a 1992 Z28???

$4500 would buy you a pretty nice car... I think realistically for $4500 it should be a 100,000 mile car with original paint but needs really nothing, it would not be a show winner by any means but it would at least present reasonably well...

Personally I think T-tops would make it more desirable to more people.
