WTB - Help!! - can't find this anywhere

My son and I have 89 IROC 5.7 that he uses for a daily driver. The insulation under the hood has decided to die. Does anyone know where to get a replacement. If you have any ideas about what else we could use for this - please let me know. Imaginative ideas are welcome.

If youre talking about the little foam stuff under the hood... just rip the rest off and your good. A lot of guys run without it, myself included.

I used bubble wrap on the underside of my 87. Looks nice and neat. Available at any HVAC co or try home depot. Originaly used by NASA.

A lot of restoration suppliers sell the correct cut underhood pad with the snap-in reatiners.I found the correct one for my '83 CFI Z28 on Ebay.It does help to protect your hood paint from underhood heat.

I checked my local dealer just Saturday for this and it's still available for about $80. Never forget to check the dealer first!

Most places will want a arm and leg to ship it. But it will be nice and flat and ready to put it on. I have seen some on e-bay $30-40 new. I am sure it's not GM if that matters to you.
