Didn't those inserts stop with '85?

I saw a 89 with them & a 92, supposedly the nose was from 90.

I suppose the 89 coulda had it swapped earlier in it's life & the seller of the 92 didn't know what year the nose really came from, but it odd to find 2 in the same day, and in the same parking lot together. Neither owner have ever met before so....

Did the bumper inserts continue after '85 or not?

 

If you are talking about the grill style ones, they were only on the 82-84 T/A noses, after that, they went to the rubber bumperettes or the lower fog lights.

 

The black bumperettes....I thought those were the early ones, then nothing after that. Like the nose of my GTA above.

 

85-90 (I believe) had the bumperettes for the bird and formulas, but the T/As got the nose with the lower fog lights after 84. Then 91 and 92 they got the "banshee" style nose with no grills.

 

OK..See, I thought there were only 4. The early grilles, the bumperettes (that just replaced the grilles for crash standards), the "GTA" nose, and 91/92...

Guess I learned something today.
