Can someone post / send me a pic of the modified mount used on the 88 GTA Notchbacks, where the strut mounts to the body... I know it is lowered a little bit, pics / measurements, or better yet an actual mount ???
I have to get this fabbed up soon, I bought one but no mounts
Thanks,
Raf

I always assumed that they were the same as the regular ones...
Are you referring to the body side or the hatch side?
If JT spots this he has some Notchbacks and should be able to help...

To be honest, Raf has asked me a few times. Each time asked, I took some time to locate the extra hardware I have. The mounts are the only thing I can't find. I would look at the cars, but they're in storage and have been for some time. I only got one non-Notchback that is a hatchback for comparison, and that's put away as well.
Sorry I haven't been of much help, Raf.
I actually think Frankie (FrankieRider2) might be the better one to ask. If Frankie doesn't have an answer, I'll see what I can do.

Yes, where the strut mounts to the car... not the hatch mount.
No problems, that's why I'm posting, maybe someone can walk into their garage and snap a pic of the factory body mount...

it would be interesting if it were different, because that would have required changes to the large rear interior plastics. I would expect the engineers to have chosen to keep the body mount the same and reposition the hatch mount position if required.
Raf, if all you need is a picture of the mounting (with the strut cap off), I have this old picture that I cropped to show what it looks like:

The top, black, "bolt" gets surrounded by the hooks on the Notchback lid.

Please tell me what more you need, and I'll see what I can do.

That's great! I have some pics to give to the fab guy...
I have a few pics of a fabbed one....
Basically a straight piece that goes down from original mount... than an L below it welded to the original and straight piece to lower where the strut mounts...
