90 Iroc 5.7 Repaint opion Help
I have 1990 Iroc 1LE that should be red. The old lady I bought it from had a cheap $199.00 paint job done back who knows when. I really don't want to paint it red but way down the road if I ever sell it do you think it would hurt the value that much of it? Its low mileage car 70K Leather interior all stock. Thanks for the help.

If it is an original 1990 1LE car, it would be worth it to me to paint it back to red. That is the original color for it, and being a very rare car, will help the value over time. Although, with 70k miles, it won't be worth as much as one with 10k miles, but still worth a good penny.
BTW, to check if it's a real 1LE, look on the RPO decal, it should have the code 1LE. If it doesn't have that, then you can repaint it whatever you want. Even though 1990 production for the Camaro is low, and even lower for the IROC's, they are more uncommon than rare IMO.

As for value, I wouldn't worry about it. Original paint is original paint, that's about it. It's already had a cheapo repaint, and you're understandably gonna get another paint job soon, so that's two repaints. Like I said, original is original, but beyond that, it's no biggie.
Now as far as personal aesthetics are concerned, remember that changing the color is a LOT of work to do right. Nothing uglier than seeing a good paintjob, only to see door jambs etc. etc. another color.
