I am not sure where to post this thread so I thought I'd post it here.
Back in 2006 I bought an 1989 Z28 (not sure if it's an IROC or not, it doesn't have any "IROC" emblems). Long story short I got ripped off. I paid $2300 for it and he told me it had 83K original miles. I did the car fax after I bought it and it turned out to be 183K miles. Plus I think it was abused and crashed and he repainted it. The car failed smog twice (when I first bought it and then failed the "test" only). I had to pay over $700 for a new gas tank for it to pass. Then the car broke down on me again. So I gave up on it and decided to buy another one.
So I began looking and I kept coming across IROC's that were messed up. One dude tried to sell me an 87 IROC with a rear end out of a 97 and the ride or rear end wasn't as tight. It seemed loose and I heard rattling. Came across another IROC but after doing the car fax, it had been a gross polluter. Went to check another IROC out, and it was pretty clean. He started it up, and it started smoking and the engine was making a squeeling noise. He said we couldn't go on a test drive until he changed the water pump... No thanks!
This past Saturday I saw a listing. It was an 88 IROC with 84,000 original miles (car fax proven). It had the 5.7 litre engine!!!! It was owned by a lady who bought it off of an old man. It's all original, bone stock unmolested. Not one rip in the interior! She had it priced for $6000 but then dropped the price dramatically just to get rid of it. She sold it to me for $4000. I feel I got lucky and it was a gift from God! Just had to post this because I feel like a very lucky man!

Cool ! Post up some pics. We would love to see it. And yes nice IROC-Z's are getting very hard to find.
I have one picture of it so far taken from my camera phone so it's not that great of a picture. Not really sure how to post pictures on this board though. I don't have an "URL" for the image. I have it saved on my computer though.
you can attach it (it an option when you are writing your post) or you can upload it to photobucket.com and that will have the url, OR your can email it to me alex-scanlon@hotmail.com and i can post it up for you
^^^^ Got it, thanks! Here's a picture of it....

Nice find! I looked at countless Camaros before I found mine. Patience always pays off. If you're patient you'll be rewarded.

Either you got a great deal or there's something wrong with it that she didn't tell you. Either way, nice! Was it repainted? Where are the stickers and stripes, does it have the decal delete code?

Just for everyoone's FYI, all '88-'90 Z28's are IROCZ's. If they have the RPO Z28, then that's what it is. The '85-'87's had to have the RPO B4Z to be an IrocZ.Originally Posted by Blud_Shot_Eyez

Yeah I hear you, there's always something wrong with used cars anyway though. I like the car so much I don't even care if something was wrong. I drove it home over 50 miles on the way back and it ran pretty good. No it doesn't have the decals I think it was an option delete, not sure if it was re-painted I dont think so thoughOriginally Posted by IROCZTWENTYGR8

... does it have the decal delete code? Check the RPO sheet for DX3, that is for stripe delete. At least then you will know if it came with them or not. Mine is factory stripe delete.
