does any one know the color of the gold in the gold iroc rims. i have a set and the silver is coming off and there is a gold color underneith. were they all made gold and then painted afterwards?

 

No they were not. Chances are you have gold irocs that someone rattlecan'd silver at some point in the past.

well there is a chance they were both rattle caned. i PM'ED him so ill see what he has to say. i'm just wondering if i could strip the silver off and save the original gold.

 

Twenty-one years ago I had a set of original silver '85-'87 IROC-Z wheels sand blasted. Underneath all the paint & coating they were a tan color. Are you sure it's gold paint you're seeing? Just a thought.

 

ok i checked em out and it looks like the the fronts are original silver but the rears are gold and painted to match. i will keep you posted when i strip them. also does anyone know about putting these on a 96 S-10 ? when i took them off an older S-10 they had the front on the rear and the rears on the front with spacer plates, is this how it should go?
