Sunroof Question

My question is if my 1989 Firebird came from the factory with its 17.75"x34" sunroof. It is not t-tops. The reason that I did not immediately assume that it was after market is the fact the it was VIN coded to match the car. I am wondering if this was a dealer option or factory option. I am trying to find a replacement since it was broken when someone stole my stereo. If anyone has any information that would help me to find a replacement it would be much appreciated.

Re: Sunroof Question

NO 3rd gen EVER came from the FACTORY will a sunroof.

However.....Dealerships may have installed aftermarket ones & sold the car brand new, much like a Choo Choo Customs van would be sold. And, of course, an individual could have one installed at some point.

As far ads it being "VIN coded", that is just VIN # etching to a cars glass, which in VERY commonly done at any point of a cars life.
