NOS GM Carpet

Hi, I put a thread over on the interior part too. I have an opportunity to get a set of front and rear NOS carpets for my GTA. They are the tan color, molded, and GM original. Ho much would/should I pay for this? Thanks a ton

Re: NOS GM Carpet

It's hard to say since the carpet was probably discontinued shortly after these cars were produced, there's never really been anything available at all to compare with (that I'm aware of). Just throwing a number out there, I would say maybe $500?

IMO it depends how nice/rare your car is. Will NOS carpet help or retain the value? Will anyone really care if it's NOS? I paid a little more for NOS but I also have some rare cars that I want to be 100 percent correct. Just depends on the person as to what's its worth for their car. My 0.02 worth.

Re: NOS GM Carpet

Yea, I know what you mean. I spent almost 1000 on some NOS material for my GSX. I want my GTA to be a show car one day, so I am thinking of getting this carpet just to have. Too bad I might be the only one who knows it is original material. Thanks for the replies.

Nope, there's other people just like you out there . I myself would like to have NOS carpet for my cars, and none of them are rare. If I'm trying to make a car look nice and original, nothing beats the look and feel of an original part.

Re: NOS GM Carpet

NOS carpet is always good score if you can find it. Aftermarket replacement carpet (even the supposedly "high quality" stuff sold by many popular parts houses) just isn't as good in my experience.

Most of the replacement carpet I've seen is less dense than the original, and the pile is slightly different. The quality just doesn't seem to be there, especially for a nice car. Nothing like paying for new carpet and then being able to see the backing through the pile...
