Re: okfoz everyone help with formula purchase!!!!

I suspect that axle would have been a 2.73 from the factory... IIRC there was no gear option on the LG4 in 1987.

Yellow... gotta love yellow. The charcoal stripe was standard in 1987 & 1988, it was not deletable. The two interior colors I have ever seen with the yellow from 1985-1988 are Black and Gray. There were some of the beige interiors for the yellow in 1992... not my favorite combo honestly.

The carburated LG4 is not a bad starting point, admittedly I swapped my LG4 to a LB9, and never looked back. It is a really easy swap to a 4bbl 350 or 383, The TPI is more involved. The WS6 is standard, which is a huge plus, most people would never go beyond the need for much more than that, you get a good soft ride AND you get cornering. Add a $50 wonderbar and you are ready to go.

Re: okfoz everyone help with formula purchase!!!!

A clean original 1987 yellow/charcoal Formula is on my short list of cars I would want, but I haven't seen one for a while now, so I'd say you're lucky if you found one. If it's a Norwood, it would also be among the last cars ever built there, since that was Norwood's last year, and that could have historical value in the future. Personally I'd want to keep it looking 100% stock, and if the LG4 is no good for you, you could go TPI like you said. I would not make it a race car though.

Re: okfoz everyone help with formula purchase!!!!

thanks everyone, i also did think that it would be worth something in the future. the interior is grey and it does have power everything. id love to have the car but i would really hate to turn into a racecar especially since i have a v6 bird in the back waiting for a nasty eight. guess i got to think about it a bit more, just hope somebody doesnt swap it up. although im still lusting for a tpi formula even better a 350 form thanks again!
