So what headaches are ahead for me? (Pictures included)
So I finally took some pictures of my camaro and decided to do some rust scouting and boy was there. To me atleast it seems like its just some good man hours can steer this car in the right direction.
As any rust questions, Replacing this car is a bit out the question. For the obvious I have no money at the moment and the other main point is that this car was giving me to me as a 17th birthday from my dad and well its one of the few things that I was given ever of course its the most treasured item and as beat up as she might be, I still love her, baby runs like a champ. Most of the rust from what i can tell came when the car was in storage in my garage for a year and 2 months.
Well here are the pictures, I am wondering what kind of work would be involved to fix these areas. I am very tool limited but winter time is coming and I have countless free time.
Heres a quick list of problems.
1.Rust on rear quarter panels around the wheel base. Rust near the gfx seems its deeper layers then the rest.
2. Rust in the actual wheel base towards the front of the car.
3. Rust coming from door holes and hinges.
4. Rust on hood front lip, Seems it was bent back into shape from a previous crash and left with bear metal and rusted.
5. Front passenger fender seems to not have been replaced and previous owners thought to themselfs that the gfx covers it, why replace it.
6.Hood is completely out of alignment, meaning some of the front fender has been cut so the hood closes properly.
7. There seems to be some warping on the front fender side area where the headlights are. Better description is pretty much the area where the front fender transitions to the fender.
8. Hatch seems to be out of alignment or something causing it to be a bit more far back, Like you can see in the picture how the RS spoiler is way more back then it should be.
9. Of course the Z28 spoiler has been added previosly and was only screwed in from the far side and not properly secured from the middle ''fins''
10. The door gfx on the passenger side was very ghettoly secured by screws which look like screws that you use for drywall application. Which u can see from the right shot.
11. Floor panels look rusted through, I peeled the carpet a bit about 4 inches from the pedals and a simple poke from a screw driver made a hole through it.

Close up of Passenger Side Rust:
Haha I know the rust burns!
What do you guys think, Simple rust removeable with some replaced parts? The most serious rust I would think is the floor panels which from what I can see seems that they are sold new for replacement. Wish I can do that for myself but Like I said I basically just normal tools and let alone a welder. Probably a Body shop will have to do that for me. The Cam is currently my daily driver for school and I leave it outside due to limited Garage space (Cars without plates are kept inside). So all the kids passing by from the local school sometimes leave nice scratch marks for me to find and get pissed at.
Thanks for any input, I wish I had the money and tools to get the car fixed, To me I know any rust wont be a problem, I am gonna get this car as close to rust free as I can when the time comes. Just want to know what kind of headaches are ahead of me.

It's not that bad... You haven't got a bunch of visible holes. Several of the spots look to be mostly surface rust from rock chips that have gotten out of hand. Those spots can probably be cleaned up, neutralize the rust, and refinish. The holes need to be cleaned up and all the rust needs to be cut out and have rust free steel welded back in and refinished. Any collision damage that's preventing panels from lining up is probably best dealt with by a shop with a frame rack. A good body man should be able to straighten the bent fender. The spoiler would fit better if you remove the RS spoiler, but you'll have to have the holes in the quarters and deck lid filled in. I'm no body man, but from past experience, any shop is going to quote you more then the car is worth just for paint. If you want it fixed, there's no easy answer that doesn't involve expense. You can either pay someone to do it, or buy the tools, develope your skills, and do it yourself.

You need an electric drill with a good steel wire brush, and some Naval Jelly rust remover. That one spot on the quarter you are going to have to patch. Use the drill and wire brush to clean out as much rust as you can then use the naval jelly to get the rust. As for the patch you can cut one from a junked body and weld or solder it in. Pick up the body work books from you local autoparts store or order them online from carcraft.

Thanks I will look into those books, Nothing like a good read to get started.
