1985 IROC-Z 5.0 H.O
Hey everyone, l'm new to these forums. l'm from toronto, canada. l appolgize in advance if l didnt post in the right section for this. I just recently inheirited my dads camaro. Its a black on black 85 iroc-z 5.0 5spd, 4disc brakes, 3.7.3 rear end, 4 bbl carb L69 motor. The car has about 190km on it. My old man hasn't moved this car in over 15 years, so its been pretty much sitting for almost 15 years. He is the original owner and he does have the original bill of sale. So l wanted to do a new project and l figured this would be a good job to do. So my question is what would be my best option with this car? Just restore the complete car? Or should l change the motor and swap in a 350 and a 6spd tranny? And any help or advice would be awesome. My original plan is to keep it stock, just rebuild the engine and everything else that needs work. But some people have told me to stroke the engine, and some have told me to swap a ls1 with a 6spd tranny. So l decided to come on here and join to hear what you guys think and your opinions!

Definitely keep it original! Sounds like quite a gem... If it was mine and inherited from my dad - I'd keep it that way all the more.

l will upload some more pics of the interior and on the day we try to start it i will bring a video camera with me and upload it so everyone can see this car. Also l was looking threw the trunk and l found a leather t-top case with straps. l'm assuming the straps connect to the back of the trunk and to the back of the seats. And does anyone have the exact numbers on how many were built in black with black interior and with the gold rims and gold striping that goes around the car?

An '85 HO would be considered desirable, especially originally owned... restore. Or if you change it, at least, save the parts you remove. You never know...

l'm gonna keep it stock and just restore it. l'm gonna start doing my homework and researching and l will be keeping all the parts l can from the car. And i've heard that if you put kyb agx struts and lower the car like .5 that you gotta change the control arms???
