I have bought an 86' TA, have a few questions...
Ok, so i hear they discontinued the "Recaro Edition" in 85, I have the Recaro seats (severely torn besides head rest's), but i haven't seen any with the ALL digital dash (will post pics during pickup) but my question is "What is the rarity of this car?" don't have the VIN but I just called to get it. will post either tonight or tomorrow. The only thing thing that is wrong with the car is, the interior is in shambles. meaning that the seats are torn, door panels are off, and a lot of other things that i have plenty of time to fix. As far as i know the inter and all the removed pieces are at the place, awaiting my arrival. The car has a total mileage of 103k, and it runs like a charm but sat for a few year so we are worried about driving it home.
Side note, i paid 1,400$ total for the car.

Although the "Recaro Edition" Trans Am was discontinued the "Recaro" seats were an option on the 1986 Trans Am and were AS5 RPO option code.
The digital dash was actually available in 1985 and up to 1988 with some records showing a few in 1989. As you have the early digital cluster, I'm going to guess it is a bit different as the tachometer likely will look like this:

The later versions changed to this:

As to how many others are equipped like yours, that's anyone's best guess as GM didn't keep records of options to that level.

All digital clusters had the mileage indicator, as well as a Systems Check system, on the right-hand side of the unit (near the middle of the car). It's all part of the digital cluster RPO code U52.
It will also have push button HVAC controls versus the standard slider controls (except the temperature control on the push button unit is also a slider; the rest of the controls are push button).
