1992 camaro

ok i got a guy wanting to sell me his car of craigslist.
i was wondering if its worth it
it has 140k miles on the body and drive-train
it has a new motor in it that he says he paid 1600 for
its a 350 tbi motor
automatic
the car was a factory v8
t-top
ac and heater work
flowmasters
leather interior
runs real good
he says the motor is bored 60 over
the only thing the car needs is attention to the paint
no dents just paint is fading

how much are these types of cars going for
i already own a third gen but i bought it for the track now i want a dailey driver
he wants 2600
but i got him talked down to 2100
is that a fair price
how much did yall spend on yalls?

Re: 1992 camaro

60 over is a bit much for the engine. does he have any paperwork to prove what it is? people say a lot of things when selling a car. I would be hesitant just because at that overbore, you can start having overheating issues.

how about the trans? is it new or is is a 140k miles trans?

without any more info, pics or anything, i would offer 2k tops or walk. Thats provided there is NO RUST on the car and none on the floor pans under the car.

A TBI RS for almost $3,000? No thanks. Save another $500 and find yourself a decent Z28.

Almost 3K? Where?

Even if it was 3K, it doesn't seem like a bad price if the car is in good shape. Leather interior usually means a loaded car, plus it runs well and has working AC. TBI doesn't scare me.

It's not the TBI that scares me... It's the high price attached to a car with an engine swap. What are the chances it was done right? Is it still rocking the 305 injectors, chip, etc? Even then it's still an RS, soft suspension, restrictive exhaust, salt flat gears. A little bit more money (or even just shopping around) could potentially buy a better car. Thirdgen prices are all over the place. For that kind of money, I'd hold out for a better car.
