I have an 85 camaro rs that hasn't been started in about 9 years. It has just been sitting in my garage for the entire time. What do you think I should do before trying to fire it up? I'm planning on changing the fuel filter, draining the fuel, blowing out the injectors, and changing the oil. Thanks for your help
Change out the anti freeze (perhaps even the thermostat, might be seized sitting so long) check the belts for cracks and dry rot. Change the plugs. Go thru as much as possible . What you have mentioned you were going to do is right on track. Some even spray oil (fog) thru the plug hole into the cylinders. Im sure there are other things I may have missed that others will mention. Good Luck let us know how you make out at start up!

The RS package didn't exist in 85... Sport Coupe, Berlinetta, and Z28 were the only options.
People like to make a huge issue out of starting a car that's been in storage, but it's really not a big deal. If it'll start and run on the gas that's in it, just top it off with fresh gas as soon as possible. I'd be most concerned with changing the oil before putting any load on the engine.

Gas does gum up after sitting a while its best to change it .Hopefully it hasnt affected the injectors at this point
