Have a few questions

Ok, this has been bothering me for a while now. My iroc is an 89 with a 350 tpi. Question 1: I thought I remember reading that all 350 tpi cars 89 and up got the n10 dual converter and I think its a kc4 oil cooler. My car didnt come equipped with these and the codes arent on the rpo sticker. I've been thinking that since my car has a date on the door sticker of 9/88, being an earlier build for the 89 model year, it didnt get these parts due to availabilty at the time and/or the factory was in the process of switching the model year and using the parts they had left from the 88 model year. Question 2: Was the factory bose system available with a power antenna. Never seen the bose system with a power antenna which I have the bose but no power antenna. Just wondering on that one. Question 3 isnt really a question but something I've always wondered about. My car has alot of options like leather, bose, power everything except the antenna, de1 rear louvers, gold pkg to mention a few thats not seen on alot of camaro's, being a 350 car to boot and all the other options I have, I wonder why it didnt get the g92 pkg. Was the g92 pkg an option and not required for the 350 cars? What did the g92 pkg consist of?

Re: Have a few questions

As for Question # 3, I'm in a similar situation. The G92 was a performance rear axle. So, instead of the standard ratio of 2.77 you got the 3.27. I'm not too clear on what else was included. There is a HP gain according to the Tech Data page so maybe a cam too. I'm not sure.
I have the g80 posi option but he didn't go for the g92. Thats just the way it was. I have my original owners address and stuff from paperwork in the car, but he's been dead for quite a while so I can't ask him why he chose what he did

For Question #2, I did have the Bose system originally w/ the power antenna. uu8 for the Bose and u75 for the power antenna both show up in my rpo codes.

I can't answer #1.

Re: Have a few questions

I have the 2.77 borg warner posi rear axle. I have the rpo g80 on my sticker. I guess the g92 is a performance pkg and the g80 is not. Thanks for the info on the bose. Just wondering on that one. Always thought about putting in the power antenna. Weird that whoever ordered the car didnt get that option when they ordered just about every option for the car. Another question I thought of. Does anyone have a factory engine block heater or were they not available for our cars? I seem to remember running across a code for it but never seen one in a thirdgen.

https://www.thirdgen.org/1989-chevy-camaro

That should answer most of your questions about G92, dual cats, etc.

K05 is the RPO for an engine block heater, and there's one parked in my garage right now. I'd venture a guess it's never been plugged in, who would need it on a convertible in South Dakota?

Re: Have a few questions

Thanks for the link on the info. I see that the g92 pkg was an option and not required for a 350 car. Cool that your car has the engine block heater. Bet its somewhat of a rare option for our cars. Crazy that someone ordered it for a convertible car.
