I've been watching YouTube for 91-92 Formy videos and keep coming across cars like this one:

They are, what appear to be, BASE model Firebirds (export models based on the mirrors and marker reflectors on the rear bumper) that have the Formula body package, minus the hood.

Was this an option for the export cars or was this simply how they came?

Here's a 1991 T/A for export as well. Has some base model touches and a 305 TBI?! Is it a base model with T/A hood & wing, or a T/A with a TBI engine?

...those are stock base Firebirds....without the Sport Appearence Package (RPO: W68...which includes the Trans Am and GTA groundkit, fog lamps, bumpers)
...available also on your domestic (us/canada) market....

3rd video:
...it's a Trans Am...this Trans Am is an export Trans Am with Tbi....Tbi in a 91/92 Trans Am was a pure export feature...

...this red Trans Am (with WS6) in the Youtube video was original equipped with 16 x 8 diamond spokes and 245/50/16, but this guy (...I know him from our german f-body forum) changed to base firebird 15 x 7 wheels...

 

I've seen that RPO before, just never seen it INCLUDE the whale tail spoiler (which all of these export base models I've seen, DO include)...

...yes....the most (or all) export Firebirds here got the D81 aerowing spoiler....and not the "base" D80...
...almost all cars from the 91/92s with D80 I saw here are grey marketed...or the owners changed from D81 to D80...because of the "look"....has something to do with the "knightrider"-thing/look/fan base...

 

After viewing tons of videos of export GTA/TAs... It seems odd at just how high the percentage of TBI 91-92 export GTA/TAs there are... It seems like MOST are TBI... Strange.
