New Member with no knowledge but lots of ambition!!
I've been lurking in the background doing some research on a 1988 GTA that I am considering purchasing and slowly restoring. First and FORMOST FOR EVERYONE TO KNOW IS i KNOW NOTHING about this car other then I love it and have since HS. I have spent the last 5 years playing with a late model S/C mustang under the guidance of a great mechanic and now want to dive head first into this.
My questions are : Besides the shop manual i have ordered off ebay - any other manuals or guides that are good to have around?
I have looked for the parts I know I will need for the car I have found but can you guys throw out places for me to look and add to my list of resources for parts! I have learned knowledge runs abundant on this forum so i will be around a lot if this actually happens.
Last but not least - all the helpful hints; guidelines and recommendations you want to throw my way are very appreciated!!
Thanks in advance to all the help I'm sure I will need!!!

it all depends on how far you wanna go with it. you can modify things to fit, or add pieces from 4th gen cars, tubalar a arms, kmembers. etc... these cars are pretty versitale so if you made a list of goals you want for the car it might be easier, than everyone just telling you a whole bunch of information at once.

Thanks TylerCamaro ...... while it will definitely need paint, immediately it needs fog lights; turn signal only clicks by hand, digital gauge but the temp gauge doesn't work; fans for the radiator are manually turned on and off by a switch on the dash - is that the norm? Its the 350; new tranny; new starter; interior is good for now ...
The ebay listing is about to expire but I'm expecting him to re-list again. I'm a little hesitant coz no one has placed any kind of bid and thats a sign to me! If he re-lists it I will post more info. If he doesnt I will continue on with my research until another one comes along! I'm almost tempted to offer 500.00 figuring I can part it out if theres something Im missing!

the fan switch is probly non factory electric fans, many people wire them like that if they have no knowledge of wiring them up properly. paints not really an issue till its mechanically sound, turn signal is probly the module itsefl(cant think of its name). for 88 it should be t.p.i. not carb'd
