1989 GTA 350 auto

i just found a 1989 gta trans am that is a dark red color with tan interior withe a 350 tpi 4 speed auto. the driver seat in the center is the only bad thing, the car runs and drives fine, the spoiler is bad which i know is normal but other then that it is very nice and the car only has 87741 miles and no rust. i am just wondering what the car would be worth, the guy said 5000 but that seems high to me but i want your guys input. just let me know what you think, thanks Ty.

$5,000 sounds about right if it has several points of obvious wear. If anything, that price is probably low. If it's got decent paint, runs and drives fine, and only has a tear in one of the seats, that might be a steal of a deal.

Re: 1989 GTA 350 auto

For a quick reference I just picked up an 89 GTA in amazing shape. It's got 113,000 miles but the motor is strong. PO claimed it has been rebuilt. I've had it about three weeks and it doesn't burn through oil or anything. The body is near perfect. Some clear coat is faded off the roof and hood but nothing some rubbing compound and polish can't fix. Two door dings on the whole car. Complete undercarriage has been undercoated. Interior is perfect minus the cloth being gone from the foam on the headliner. Stage 2 shift kit. Oversized injectors. Im sure there's more, but the point I'm trying to make is that I paid 4,000 even for this. Any other questions, PM me. It took me a good 6 months before I landed this. I had been searching ever site and forum around my area. Ended up finding it on Craigslist

Ty,
I agree with Drew, it sounds like a Good deal, $5K for a GTA, in decent to nice original condition I would personally look into it.

Re: 1989 GTA 350 auto

I'm planning on buying on Thursday an 18k mile 88 GTA with a hardtop, cloth and a 350 for $9,500. It too needs a spoiler, and a few small spots buffed out, and an A/C compressor. Otherwise, its flawless, and sits on the original tires.

As a point of comparison, yours for $5,000 seems quite reasonable...sounds like a fun cruiser!
