Door gap specs?
In one the books i have it lists gap and tolerance specs for everything BUT the doors... Anyone have some info or the gap and tolerance specs for setting the doors? iv asked about this once before on the body section but didn't really come up with anything to useful.

Re: Door gap specs?
My car is showing 3/16" gap at the front of the door and about the same at the rear. I measured this a couple inches above the middle of the door, but my gaps appear consistent from top to bottom.

Re: Door gap specs?
IIRC:
1) I do not think you can actually gap the back of the door, but look at the bottom of the door where it meets up with the rocker, if you have GFX its probably not as critical, but on a Formula or a Base Camaro or Firebird w/o gfx it makes a big difference...
2) then Gap the front of the doors by moving the fender,
3) then gap the hood to the fenders and the front bumper.
When I did my car I got some digital calipers and simply measured the back of the door, and then tried to make the same gap on the front of the door to the fender. There was not a lot of play, I had to really force it to get it to be correct.

Re: Door gap specs?
I know when i help my friend with one of his thirdgens i opened up the holes in the hinges to be able to slide the door back more. Im just curious to know if there are factory set specs and + / - tolerances for the doors, there is forever thing else including the floor plans/ subframes.

Re: Door gap specs?
Well i got about 9hr if not more just aligning the doors there really close to perfect i have a tad bit of tweaking left to do then i can work on the fenders next... i used your 3/16th as a guide and seemed to work i modified the hinges on both doors i can get the rear door gaps tight but if i got them to tight the fender gaps got to big so took a lot of playing around to get both side to match each other like i said still some tweaking to do...
