Missing RPO Sheet
Have a 1989 Firebird Formula 350 in which I cannot seem to find the Manufacture's RPO option sheet. I have looked in center armrest console, rear locking storage compartment, in and around all plastics in left tail light area. It has no glove box on the dashboard. Would anyone know of other places it might be? Also, if it is truly M.I.A., is there anyone that could reproduce it from the VIN?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Missing RPO Sheet
You can get in touch with PHS (Pontiac Historical Service) and order all the info on your particular car from the time it was built and the dealer who ordered it.And it will list all of the RPO code options that you have. You can even get the original window sticker with it.

You can do a search and read the previous threads on the subject to find the exact cut off year. Or contact PHS directly and ask. I bought their package for my Formula over a decade ago, and aside from the invoice there isn't much they send you that you can't get somewhere else for less money.

Re: Missing RPO Sheet
I just got mine from them about 7 months ago and they where spot on.I know they were correct because I'm the original owner.and on the REPRODUCTION window sticker it lists all the RPO code OPTIONS.
Re: Missing RPO Sheet
Oh well **** than, I guess I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Here's a thread about some of the problems people have noticed with the reproduction window stickers.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...ckers-now.html
And I guess we didn't already inform you back in January that PHS doesn't do Pontiacs newer then 1987...
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...o-sources.html
So here, I'll waste my time setting you straight again...
PHS doesn't do later thirdgens.
PHS doesn't have ALL the RPO codes for the cars they document.
PHS can't get you an "ORIGINAL" window sticker.
Just because the info from PHS you received contained accurate info that pertained to your car, does NOT mean that it contains every RPO that would normally be on the SPID. Just because they did your car, doesn't mean they'd have info on an 89.
The OP could probably get a copy of his invoice from the GM media archive. He might be able to find a build sheet somewhere in the car, or get a list of his RPO's from a dealer (big maybe), but PHS doesn't do later thirdgens and wouldn't have ALL that information anyway. The closest substitute to the info on the SPID would be the dealer list, assuming it's even in the database, but it still wouldn't be a reproduction of the original sticker.

Re: Missing RPO Sheet
I'm sorry,I should have said it was a reproduction of the original window sticker,I should have known better,THE ORIGINAL IS STUCK ON THE CAR.And PHS list on their info.sheet that they do 1989 TURBO TA ---$32.00,1989-2007 Pontiac---$40.00.And I also said that the window sticker list RPO code options. And what's to say that this guy won't get a correct window sticker like I did.And no it doesn't contain ALL the RPO'S but it's a start and he can find out what OPTIONS his car came with.

PHS (actually a third party, since PHS acts as a middle man with another company who actually produces the window stickers) can get a window sticker made, IF you have the invoice, which they no longer would have for a 1989. I hope that answers your question why he won't get a correct window sticker.
There's a difference between what the invoice shows and what the SPID shows. The invoice shows you how the car is priced, not unlike a window sticker. The SPID shows you what parts the car came with, for the purpose of obtaining accurate service parts. That's why it's called a Service Parts Identification Decal. There is some overlap, but neither has everything that's on the other, since they're tools for different purposes.
Hey, I'm sorry to be a dick about it, but it's annoying when someone gives bad advice. It's even more annoying when that person refuses to stop giving bad advice after they've been informed. It's not just ignorance at that point, it's willful ignorance.
