Suggestion for new RPO Decoder

I hope that this stays open so others may have a place to post ideas about the new Decoder, but, anyways...

Would it be possible to have a "search" function, so that an owner can put in a part or something, so that the Decoder can spit out possible RPO codes? I know I'm not the only one on here missing my code sheet (not only the sheet but the original console AND the acoustic insulation on the rear locking compartment door I'm pretty sure the RPO sheet was attached to), and there are things that I and others have that we have no idea the RPO codes for.

Unless, of course, that is the whole point of collecting the window stickers.

Re: Suggestion for new RPO Decoder

There are plans to have a search feature built into the RPO Decoder along with a few additions. I've already got a portion of the RPO Decoder written, and Scott and I are still working on the database (populating it with RPO codes and definitions).

But the biggest issue is getting the information to populate it (from window stickers, build sheets, etc.) and that's the priority as the RPO Decoder won't be of any use if that information is lacking. It's been very difficult getting the early-mid Firebird data, hence why it's still not ready.

Once that's finished and the RPO Decoder is ready, additional features (such as a part search) can be added or discussed. It looks to be a little down the road, however.

I moved this to the History section because it's most likely the members browsing this section will contribute the material and benefit the most from the project.

Thanks.
