im stuck in a bind i found two NOS on ebay...does the car originally come with black caps with a gold bird or black WS6 center caps with gold lettering? i tried searching the internet and got mixed answers.

For 87, they were the bird. The WS6 caps didn't start until 88.

If your looking for some, I have a 99% (1 could use a new cover emblem but can't tell unless closer than in your hand looking at it) perfect set (all 4) with the metal retainers off my 87 GTA. $75 shipped.

New Old Stock. Items that are original parts but were made in 1987 (in this case) & have never been installed on a car. Still inside the original packaging.

And the 1987 crosslace wheels are different as well, from the 88+ crosslace wheels.

Usually when you hear the word NOS, it is about nitrous oxide. I think the original company started the nitrous systems, is the one called Nitrous Oxide Systems, NOS for short, which has become the generic name for all nitrous systems regardless of the brand that makes it now.

yes, i know. but i've been seeing the acronym quite a bit on TGO in the apparent context of restoration parts.
