That's a very nice car, not sure what others would say but I'd say it could fetch 7-8k. I'd ditch the seat covers if you don't need them.

I concur with 82tarecaro,
Dash pad "trashed"
NO original 15" turbo rims
PMD seats most likely need recovering(Hence the seat covers)
"Rice style" white guage overlays
Not a popular ext color for an '82 IMO
More like a $3000-5000 car IMO.Only real thing going for it is mileage and exterior body condition/original paint.

I think you guys are overreacting about that dash. Seriously, the dash is in nice shape with some speaker covers added. It's not a totally original car, but it's in really really nice shape with some light cosmetic mods. It's not going to kill the value on a car that's not demanding high dollars right now anyway. As long as it's not cracked to hell, I would say it won't kill the value. Not all the people who buy these cars are purists.

And so what if it doens't have original wheels? I think those ones are quite tasteful. Better than 20 inch irocs or blacked out z28 rims that I'm always seeing on these cars.
To be honest, I really like those wheels man

The good: I love the paint color choice. Its clean with low miles.
The Bad: The dash has to go, it looks hideous that way to me. The early original dash pads looked good in my opinion. The white face gauges has go, id swap in race gauges honestly or put the stock back in. And the wheels need to go. no more than 4k on the price for what i see its worth. If it was more original with those miles it would be in a ballpark range of 10K range

Does have a lot appeal-especially if it is as straight, clean
and rust free as it looks in the pics If it was one i was
thinking of buying, the t-tops would be a big demerit
but i know a lot of people like the t-tops The dash
speaker problem could be fixed pretty easy and the
wheels, though not as cool as authentic "bowling ball"
cap wheels would be,i think they look ok(they kinda
remind me of "magnum 500"style wheels).
I think it could be worth around $7500 if there is no
hidden rust or accident damage

Re: What is it worth? 82 TA
Jeez you guys aren't a fan of my speakers are you? There were cracks coming from the corners of the speaker ports that were quickly spreading. The speaker plates covered them for the most part. No, those arent 6x9s up there just stock size speakers. I will probably sand and fiberglass the dash back to a stock look with a more durable surface. The speaker grilles will disappear when I do this. This car isn't for sale and will probably never be. I am not a purist so I am very pleased with what I have done to it. The rims are aftermarket yes but the bowling ***** are not to my taste. The seats are almost flawless along with the rest of the interior the covers are just for protection. Thanks for the compliments and constructive criticism.

Re: What is it worth? 82 TA
Goosehunter,
Your headline reads what is it worth? People gave you their honest opinion. It's a very nice original looking car that looks like it's been well maintained. However, having had an 84 305 with midnight metallic blue paint that I restored to almost new when I was in college in the early 90s, I can tell you that the 82-85 were some of the slowest and therefore least sought after third gens made. Realistically, you might get $3000-$3500 for this car. To you, I'm sure it's worth a great deal more. Enjoy your ride for what it is.

Re: What is it worth? 82 TA
Need an engine pic to see what's going on under the hood. Early TA's are hard to find nice and stock which is why everyone is down on the mods when they see an early nice car with low miles with a few tacky bolt ons (rims excepted). The value goes way up if it were stock. It's hard to get more than 3K for a mildly modified car.

Re: What is it worth? 82 TA
Well, I know at this point what the market will bare because someone just offered me 8,000 for the car. Whether this is an accurate value for the car I am not sure. I now know what someone would pay for it. I'm still not selling the car though.

I kinda like the car the way it is.
Dash pad def needs a "stock" one
NO original 15" turbo rims (thank god)
PMD seats most likely need recovering (stock seats recovered oor a nice set of period correct Recaros)
"Rice style" white guage overlays (I like the white, its not "rice style" body color would b "rice style")
Not a popular ext color for an '82 IMO (Again, thank god, makes it better so it has less chance to get ruined with goofy "KITT" front bumper.)

I love the color and eventhough I appreciate stock wheels, the current combo on the car, look great.
