Engine: 357
Transmission: m29 T56
Axle/Gears: 3.27 9 bolt Borg Warner.
Need to confirm motor in my car.
I looked up what my car came with, and i have an LU5 82 Trans Am. 305. My vin 8th digit is "7".

Pull off the alternator and clean the little metal pad of the engine block deck surface and read the digits. It should have the engine code along with a partial VIN that will match the vehicles VIN if its the original engine.

besides the suffex the block casting number in on the block behind the drivers side head above where the block mates the transmission.
