Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but I need a favor from someone: if you have an early Z28 (82 - 85 or so) with both a Z28 dash emblem and bumper emblem, could you please measure the height and width of each and let me know if they're roughly the same?

For the bumper, only measure the width of the Z28 lettering and not the bowtie and for the dash emblem measure the inside dimension of the emblem not to the outside plastic carrier.

As you know, the 82s had a bumper emblem with no bowtie and all the repros have the bow tie. In my search for a bowtie-less emblem tonight, I noticed the Z28 dash emblem looks like it might be the same as the bumper, except the dash emblem is attached to the plastic carrier with the pegs to attach it to the dash.

I'm wondering if I could buy a dash emblem, remove the Z28 insert and use it on my bumper...

 

The dash emblem has hard plastic backing not designed for outside use just for dash specific only, the bumper emblem is just a sticker classic industries has them

 

That's what I'm curious about -- the dash emblem looks like it's just a sticker stuck inside the plastic housing. Anyone know for certain? The only emblems Classic has have the bowtie and I'm after one without the bowtie ...

 

Both emblems on my '82 are in perfect shape, the bumper emblem is actually larger than the dash one. Neither is a flat sticker at all, they are both glossy plastic with depth and contour.
