Factory or GM mats?
I went to one garage sale today, I am by no means a big garage sale guy but just happened to stop in. Anyway these mats were there and marked 82-92 Camaro. For the price I could not pass them up. I did get all 4 but only the fronts have anything written. I have never seen them before nor can I find them in any search on here. If they were Beechwood I would be really excited but they look okay in the car for now.
Are these factory or aftermarket? They fit great. Any info would be appreciated.

Definitely look aftermarket. Factory mats were plain and had a little GM logo on them. The edges also had a binding. Those are serged.

Yes, they are stitched on the sides and are thick. Oh well, for $17.00 I will just use them until I buy some others.
Thanks guys. Thought they were cool looking and have not yet seen another with Z28 and bowtie logo.

Re: Factory or GM mats?
Great buy, but definitely not GM. A good rule of thumb is if it says anything other than GM on it (like Z28, Trans Am, Camaro, etc,), it's not factory. GM is cheap, and is not going to spend the money to make different mats for different Camaro/Firebird models. IIRC, original 3rd gen mats should be totally plain other than the standard 1 inch rubber GM square logo near the top of the mats. Keep in mind though that with normal wear, it's not uncommon for the GM logo to have fallen off and be missing at this point.

Those look just like Lloyds... I have them in my thirdgen right now. The passenger is almost exactly the same shape but the driver's side has a dead pedal flap for the thirdgen mats.

Scott,
I thought the floor pan area of a 3rd & 4th gen were the same...

All this info helps. So I am now on the prowl for the correct Beechwood factory mats.... Hmmm.. How hard will this search be?

Re: Factory or GM mats?
I believe someone makes reproduction mats that fit and look perfect, only difference is they lack the GM logo at the top of them. Where to buy them, I am not sure of.
Re: Factory or GM mats?
Do a search here. They've been discussed before. I sent my originals to ACC for factory shape, design and contour and they nailed it. Now I believe most shops that sell ACC mats have the contoured fit option.
