Am I missing a brace?

It looks like there should be a triangular brace under the battery box, theres one on the other side, just wondering if its missing. thanks

Re: Am I missing a brace?

I having trouble figuring out your pic in post 2, but its the brace in this pic that says z28 and f41 models only. Based on my reading the other thread Im thinking its one of the ones thats only on one side, would that be correct?

Re: Am I missing a brace?

Yes it's only on one side. Seems like all Firebirds had this brace, both my '84 T/A and my 89 base 'Bird have it, although the 89 one is slightly different .

Re: Am I missing a brace?

This is the only triangular brace I can think of that's below the battery tray.

I do not know if GM installed these on all third gens or (when they did) if they were installed on both sides exclusively. I can only tell you what I know: I have an 88 SC (V6 car) and a 91 Z28 and both my cars came from the factory with corresponding LH and RH pairs of these braces.

Re: Am I missing a brace?

that looks like the ones that connect the subframe to the k member, and yes I have both of them. So I guess Im not missing anything, It's just funny looking because theres all the same mounting holes on both sides, but the brace is only on the one side. thanks guys
